Elbjazz 2023 - HfMT Young Talents

HfMT-Alumnus Bastian Menz ist aus der Hamburger Szene nicht wegzudenken. Sein musikalisches Spektrum reicht jenseits des Jazz von Funk bis Pop. Vor allem aber haben es ihm die folkloristischen Klangwelten der Dominikanischen Republik angetan, die er im Rahmen eines Stipendiums bereisen konnte. Mit seinem Quartett hat sich Menz ganz dem Modern Jazz verschrieben, sowohl, was die mitreißenden Grooves als auch die elegischen Melodien anbelangt. Im Zusammenspiel entsteht jedes Mal aufs Neue ein spontaner Freiraum, der dafür sorgt, dass kein Konzert des Quintetts dem anderen gleicht.
